What are Paternity/Parentage Actions?

Parentage actions are filed when the parties have a child or children together, but were never married.

This establishes certain rights and responsibilities of the parties including child custody, visitation, and child support including medical insurance.

The law and the process for parentage actions are very similar to that of a divorce, except there is no spousal support or community property.
